Honora & the Fae is the collaborative project of Honolulu-based singer-songwriter Honora Johnson, whose evocative lyrics and haunting melodies lie at the heart of the music. Blending folk, pop, and poetic storytelling, Honora crafts songs that explore love, loss, and the complexity of the human experience.
Joined by the gifted Grace Mabulay on classical violin and Aoife McGranaghan on fiddle and vocal harmonies, the trio creates a lush, violin-forward soundscape that brings each song vividly to life. Their arrangements are intimate and immersive, weaving together tradition, emotion, and artistry.
At its core, Honora & the Fae is an extension of Honora’s creative voice—songs born from poetry, brought to life with rich instrumentation and deep emotional resonance. The name nods to the fae—fairies of folklore, often tied to nature, beauty, and enchantment—reflecting the music’s ethereal sound and otherworldly feel. As an independent project, Honora & the Fae invites listeners into a world that feels both timeless and intimate, where storytelling takes center stage and every note carries intention.
